A state of the art 60 bed care home and a centre of excellence for Dementia care

Glenisla Developments Limited (GDL) has designed a state of the art 60 bed care home, partnering with a number of specialists in dementia and elderly nursing care, including a large healthcare management company “Healthcare Management Services, and Scottish Universities. The company has consulted with these parties to deliver a unique care home design and a “centre of excellence” for Dementia care in Scotland and the UK.  

As a result of this specialism and outstanding design, top 20 UK Care Home Operator Care Concern Group has signed a contract with GDL to acquire and operate the care home when completed by the end of 2024.  Care Concern owns and operates over 75 care homes in the elderly care market, focusing on general nursing and dementia care.  The care home will provide synergies and healthcare options for all residents in the village, both in the care home and the residential units

    Fully constructed on one level with a spacious 3,700m² total area, the non-institutional design has six blocks all containing large residents’ rooms with en-suite facilities,

  • Entertaining and Social

    The Care Home boasts extensive entertaing space with separate lounge and dining areas, quiet reading rooms, a café/bar, cinema, hairdressers and communal meeting areas.

The care home has a unique bespoke design which will provide the highest quality of care for a mix of residents. There are 60 rooms, 50% of which are available for frail & elderly nursing care, and 50% are for specialist dementia care. The focus is to provide a “non-institutional” facility in landscaped rural location. Features include:

  • Constructed all on one level, spacious at 3,700m2 total area
  • Large residents’ rooms with en-suite facilities. Dementia care input from HCMS and Stirling University DSDC
  • Extensive walking areas internally and in the care home grounds
  • Six blocks of residential areas with separate lounge/dining areas

  • Quiet rooms/reading areas, Café/bar, Cinema/functions room, Hairdressers, Communal/meeting areas
